Hi all,

Enjoy writing :)!

Hanieh

Nowadays there’re many celebrities who are famous for their glamour and wealth rather than their achievements. This is bad example for young people.

My opinion:
Celebrities are the people whom we see on TV, internet and magazines every day, we know almost everything about their way of living, habits, even some private things. They show their glamorous clothes, expensive cars and big houses, they speak about money, even sing about it. They may write a song or two, and after that become famous and rich. They may not have talent at all, just look glamorous, or make some scandals on ‍‍TV shows.‍‍
When you’re young you know little about life, and what things really are. Most of the tee‍‍ns tries‍‍ to find their idol, the person whom they want to be, at best it will be their mom, dad or comics hero, but sometimes that person‍‍ is celeb‍‍rity. And as they see all this glamour from the TV screen, they trying to do the same, and sometimes it’s very bad for their life.
Life of real artist is very difficult, you’re always under pressing, always in spotlight, everybody speaks about you, and you may not have your own, private life. You may be rich, but don’t have time to spend money, and live like any other person.
Parents must ‍‍taught ‍‍their children not live others life but find their own way of living and not to try look like somebody but to be themsel‍‍ves.‍‍

Crime in cities is out of control. The government needs to build more prison facilities and fill them with criminals
The problem of fighting against crimes or crime control comes from the ancient ages and becomes more and more actual now. We could get from the difference information sources (TV news, films, Internet, etc.) information about clashes in Brasil supported by many criminal gangs. A couple of years ago we could observe the mass violence in London made by young people mainly came from problematic city districts and problematic families and it was very unexpected for such‍‍ su‍‍ccessful country as UK. There are just a few places in the world where the criminal situation is kept under government control successfully and there are even fewer places where the number of crimes is very low and doesn’t incr‍‍ease.‍‍
But what are the reasons for such trend? Do all or majority of sentenced people never get back to criminal activity after completed sentence? Let’s look at the problem from different points.
As for me, I’d prefer to agree with the first part of statement. Apparently, the statistical information proves the fact that number of crimes is permanently going up. As criminal scientists think all people initially are born as potential criminals. Of course, not all of them become criminals and it happens under some unfavourable or crucial circumstances in their liv‍‍es.‍‍
But from the other point of view, I completely disagree with the idea that building more prisons, increase a number of sentenced people and filling the prisons with criminals would make the criminal situation in cities better. As I mentioned above, people join to criminal activity mostly due to unfortunate or crucial circumstances, e.g. alcohol or drug using, disadvantaged family, bad friends, gambling, etc. Will the construction more and more prison facilities help to stop such bad trend? Of course, no. Statistical information says that even death penalty cannot help to decrease the number of serious crimes. Also, statistical information shows that a very few percentage of people who come back from prisons become normal and law-abiding people.
But what should the governments do in order to reduce the crime rate? What can the society do to prevent young people and adults from becoming crim‍‍inals?‍‍

I think the most important and sufficient way for governments is to spend more money to develop economic situation, to create new jobs and to reduce an unemployment rate. If ‍the‍ people have satisfactory social protection level, undoubtedly, it will affect positively on the crime rate and there will be no need to build more prison facilities and fill them with criminals any more. As an example I'd like to mention Germany, Austria, etc. But at the same time we can see that governments in such countries as Brasil, Mexico, African countries cannot get over the crime rate in these countries for the bad economic situation reason and because of a big percentage of p‍overty.‍

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Crime is one of the biggest problems of urbanized countries. Most of crimes occurring in highly populated cities where police officers is not enough to prevent criminal actions, and criminals using it as an advantage. Low standard of living, high unemployment rates, great difference between poor and rich people is also reason of high crime rates.
I don’t think that many prison facilities is equal to safer life, moreover filling the prison not enough to stop the crime at all, because one day inmates will leave prison and if nothing won’t change in their life they will continue to break the law. Moreover it’s very expensive task to carry many prison facilities, and it can also worsen economic situation. Government must seek ways to solve problems that causes crime rates to go up, for example stimulate big companies to open more workplaces, lower taxes for people with small income and raise it for rich people, make education accessible to all segments of population.
In conclusion I’d like to say that crime is part of society and it’s not only government’s job to fight with it but also ours.

Crime in cities is out of control. The government needs to build more prison facilities and fill them with criminals.

I ‍‍partly‍‍ agree with the mentioned statement and I will try to show my point of view below.

Nowadays the level of crime in cities has reached a peak. But it didn’t happen in a moment. A reason for that was continuous chain of negative processes over last decades. And the most serious of them are social dissatisfaction and jealousy. An overwhelming majority of criminals ‍doesn’t‍ want to accept their failures and try to justify themselves in that way. Another type is criminals who almost didn’t have an opportunity to choose a better way because they ‍was‍ born, grew up and became mature on the streets in districts like Harlem or Brooklyn for instance. Therefore “the army” of criminals is continuously and significantly increasing and governments can’t cope with that.

Despite th‍is‍ I don’t think that building more penitentiaries and other prison facilities is going to solve the problem in general. That will more look like endless carousel, because as more people would commit a crime, more facilities governments would have to build. Instead of that they have to get the bottom line and to find source of the problem. They have to take steps such as prohibition of carrying guns and other weapons for civilians which as we know is very popular in some countries. In my opinion actions like this will certainly lead to su‍ccess.‍

In conclusi‍on‍ I would like to say that there is no need for building prison facilities. The only thing we have to do for avoiding crime problem in future is to give proper upbringing to young generation.

Crime in cities is out of control. The government needs to build more prison facilities and fill them with criminals.

Crime has always been one of the most common problems of our society. It is absolutely impossible to prevent crime at all, but people can reduce the number of crimes by taking some actions.
In my point of view one of the serious causes of crime is unemployment. Nowadays more and more developing and also developed countries suffer from it. I think that the government should develop ec‍‍onomics of the c‍‍ountry , as it is the main source of problems which can cause unemployment. Another reason of unemployment is a bad quality of education. High quality of education is an effective solution for this problem, as developed econo‍‍mics‍‍ is. Not only young generation should get good education to have a job and high salary for living a decent life, but also criminals should be taught job skills which will help them to find a stable job‍‍ easily.‍‍
By the way I completely disagree with the statement that the government needs to build more prison facilities and fill them with criminals. For me this solution is very superficial and uneffective, because before solving a problem, people should find out the origin of it. The building of more prison facilities will make this problem even worse. The number of crimes might get much ‍‍higher.‍‍
As a con‍‍clusio‍‍n I can say that the government should solve the problem with crimes in a right way by improving economics and education, not only by building prisons. It's a very serious problem with negative effects on society, but there are not such problems in the world that can't be solved.

Crime in cities is out of control. The government needs to build more prison facilities and fill them with criminals.

According to the latest statistic reports, the level of crime is rising year by year all over the world. The countries with the highest level of crime are basically those, which has poor economics, unstable political environment and hot zones. For example, the first place in the list of most criminal places in the world in this year took Afghanistan. It can be explained by all the factors, mentione‍‍d above.‍‍

I d‍‍on’t agree‍‍ with the statement that government needs to increase the number of prisons and fill them with the criminals. Like the basic law of economics says, “Where there’s demand, there will be sup‍‍ply‍‍”. In my view, there are enough prison facilities for all the criminals for this moment and I’ve never heard about cases, when a man was convicted, but was not jailed because of full prisons. The real issues, that government has to pay highest attention on is development of national education system, create more work places, especially in regions away of capital and big cities and to interest the young people in sport and other activ‍‍ities.‍‍

Another important reason of rising crime is TV and other mass media’s propaganda. Whenever we turn on the TV or switch to any channel (except, maybe, National Geographic or Discovery) we will surely face with the scenes of violence or crimes. Many researchers have found that all the information, received from the TV, Internet and other sources, ‍‍affect on‍‍ our mind, and may lead to the bad consequences for people with weak p‍‍syche.‍‍

Summarizing all of the above, I can say that all that government has to do is not to spend the money for building more prisons, but to take the actions for preventing the crime in their co‍‍untry.‍‍
